Micah Holland
Micah Holland is a versatile and educated percussionist with over 25 years of experience.
He began playing at a young age and continued through high school and college where he performed in jazz, latin and rock bands and taught at a school of music. He began playing at a young age and continued through high school and college where he performed in jazz, latin and rock bands and taught at a school of music. Skilled in a wide range of instruments and styles, he constantly seeks to increase knowledge of his craft. He has studied under Zoro and Johnny Rabb and has attended clinics by Terry Bozzio, Steve Smith, Dave Weckl, Aaron Spears and many others.
He is currently playing and recording with Holland House Music, multiple churches, and with several freelance projects. Finding his inspiration from drummers such as Anika Nilles, Larnell Lewis, Steve Jordan and Clyde Stubblefield, his style can be described as rock and funk with sprinkles of worship, jazz and latin.
His passions are playing his wide range of drumming styles for worship and entertainment as well as elevating the skill levels of other drummers. He has successfully conducted original research and defended his Master’s thesis entitled, “Difference in Drumming Speed of Various Skill Levels Dependent Upon Warm-up Protocols.” In the future he would like to continue this project and turn it into his PhD dissertation and ultimately, get it published.
He has been playing Outlaw drums for years now and loves how each drum is a work of art. Many companies can produce drums, but it takes a special company to produce art, and Outlaw is the best at it.
